Thirsty Horse Mongolia
Text Box:

The Trek

Leaving UB we head west over open steppe and past the Khustain Nuruu to visit Kharkhoran, then turn south and follow the jeep tracks through Erdenedalay and on to Dalantzadgad  - the Queen of the Gobi towns  - so much for the easy part. From Dalantzad we follow the chain of the Gobi Altai and then cross the desert, then up into the Altai Mountains and down to the historic town of Hovd. From there the last leg takes us to Olgii in time for the Eagle Festival on the 5th/6th October. Then fly back to UB. Make no mistake, this trek is the ultimate in Mongolian motorcycle adventure and it will be a tough ride.
